TAXES

“Tea Party” followers and organizers recognize the old stance taken by our forefathers against taxation without representation. This principle was the motive behind the Revolutionary War “Tea Party”.

Many Americans recognize a lack of real representation in Washington D.C. The Administration and Congressional Majority are pushing through agendas that are NOT representative of mainstream Americans.

The most repeated campaign promise made by President Obama was, simply stated, NO NEW TAXES ON AMERICA’S MIDDLE CLASS! This statement was made many times to buy votes and to garner backing for political agendas.

Now let’s see if we have any new taxes:

*Account receivable tax     Ad valorem tax-city     Ad valorem tax-county     Alcohol/Liquor tax     *Ammunition tax     *Banker tax     Battery disposal Tax     Building permit tax     **Cadillac Healthcare plan tax     *Capital gains tax     **Carbon emissions tax     City park maintenance tax     *Corporate Income tax     Diesel tax     * Dividends tax     Drivers license tax      **Employer-funded health insurance premiums tax   *Entertainment tax     *Environmental charge tax     Excise tax     *Federal park fee tax     *Federal income tax     **Federal unemployment tax     Fishing license tax     Franchise tax     Fuel permit tax     Gasoline tax      Gross permit tax     *Gun tax     Hospital district tax     Hunting license tax     *Inheritance tax     *Insurance benefit tax     Inventory tax     *Interest tax     *Investment windfall profit tax (targets retirees “cashing out” on investments)     IRA early withdrawal tax      Luxury tax      *Marijuana clinics tax     Marine vehicle tax     Marriage license tax      *Medicare tax      *Medicaid tax     Personal property tax     Pet license tax     Recreational vehicle tax     Rent tax     *Replenishment tax     Royalty tax     Sales tax     School district tax      *Service tax     *Severance tax      *Sin tax     Social security tax      *State parks fee tax     *State income tax     *State unemployment tax     *Sugary drink tax       *Tanning salon tax     Telephone Federal  excise tax     Telephone federal universal service fee tax     Telephone state and local tax     Tire disposal tax     *Tobacco tax     *Toll road tax     *Unemployment Obligation tax     Utility tax     ****Value added tax      Vehicle permit tax     *War tax     Water usage tax       Well permit tax     **”Wheelchair tax”-healthcare device tax     Windfall profits tax     Workers compensation tax

Do middle class citizens see any taxes that they might pay?  The listings with an asterisk (*) are the ones that are new or drastically affected by the current Administration.  Do you see any that might affect your employer, your state, your community, your livelihood, or your children?

THIS REMINDER TO ALL AMERICANS:

Taxes are levied to fund government programs. Many taxes are declared to be allocated to a particular program. After tax money is collected, it is the GOVERNMENT’S money. The funds are no longer Your money or necessarily the declared program’s money. Tax money is now funding for whatever agendas, give-a ways, or vote-buying that the congressional majority and the Administration feel worthy of your tax dollars.   (A good example of this inclination is the announcement by the Administration that it wants to use TARP funds for programs that the funds were not meant to cover when this particular bail-out program was presented to the American public. The Administration now thinks that 30 BILLION of these Tax dollars is for discretionary spending. )

WE MUST VOTE INTO OFFICE REPRESENTATION AND ADMINISTRATION THAT ARE HONEST, PRUDENT STEWARDS OF THE AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS! They will not need to be so creative on different ways to tax the public and then tell the public that they are not raising taxes.
